Bene Benissimo! – Wellness at la Dolce Vita Retreats

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

“Benissere” means wellness in Italian and it is a very important word and concept in Italian culture and has been throughout the centuries.  When you travel with La Dolce Vita Retreats, owner and spa connoisseur, Janice Briggs takes you to her very favorite Wellness Centers and Spas – state of the art facilities that focus on total wellness and incorporate chromatherapy, aromatherapy, herbal treatments and relaxation modalities to create the ultimate spa experience.  Always nestled in exquisite properties, and accompanied by inspirational faculty, La Dolce Vita Retreats provides women with a true vacation experience that addresses soothing and enriching one’s mind, body and spirit.  Return home refreshed and recharged!  You too can make “Bene Benessimo” a part of your life and begin a tradition of self-nurturing. La Dolce Vita Retreats embraces a philosophy of total wellness and creating the lives we want to live.

There’s a silver lining to this tradition as well.  My husband has worked for forty years without taking a break just for himself- to play a week of golf or be a beach bum; to spend a day reading a book swinging in a hammock, or just to do absolutely nothing. Because my retreats are ladies only, and do believe the dynamics are different when men are present, he is now having to take that week for himself!  At first he was quite wary, having never given himself permission to focus on himself solely. But now, he is so excited!  He is going to do all of the little things, and some big, that he has had on the back burner for years – take golf lessons, work on miniature model cars, resume some stained-glass hobbies, visit maritime and aeronautic museums, study wines of the region, learn Italian, SLEEP…

We all need time to replenish, we are need to to play, laugh, rest, learn, be at leisure.  We all need time for ourselves to reflect and appreciate, to explore and to experience life in its greatest beauty and its simplest bliss.
